SIGN Two handmade autumn decorations. The first is a stuffed pumpkin covered in green cotton print fabric patterned with orange and rust maple leaves and berry sprigs, ribbed with wrapped natural twine into segments, topped with a real twig stem, a burst of natural and orange raffia, silk maple leaves in orange, rust, and gold, and green wire tendrils. The second is a flat pumpkin cut from board, faced in burlap with painted panels in leopard print on orange-gold and zebra or tiger stripe on orange, with two green leopard-print painted leaves, a dark painted stem, a raffia tie, and a small tin or metal sign lettered "It's Fall, Y'all!" in black on a distressed white ground wired to the front. Flaws include loose fabric threads and pulled fibers on the stuffed pumpkin, fraying and shedding along the cut burlap edges of the flat pumpkin, bent and separating raffia strands on both, dust throughout, visible glue and wire attachment points, and a soiled sign face with light edge wear; the twine ribbing on the stuffed pumpkin is slack in places. Do not wash or dampen either piece, since the fabric pumpkin is glued as well as sewn and the burlap panels are adhered to the board; dust them with a soft dry brush instead. Store them dry, loosely and uncrushed, with nothing stacked on the stuffed pumpkin so the twine ribbing and raffia keep their shape, and keep them away from mice, which nest in raffia and stuffing.
