Early Carl Zeiss Jena 6x "Telexem" binocular, serial number 462768, dating to approximately 1914/15 and representing the first generation of Zeiss center-focus prismatic optics. The binoculars measure 10.8 cm H x 14.0 cm W (4.25" H x 5.5" W) and weigh 533 grams (1 lb 2.8 oz). The optics are technically superior with crystal clear glass and only a single minor dust spot on each side. Mechanically, all adjustments—focus wheel, bridge hinge, and diopter—retain their original factory-fluid movement. The body finish is excellent, showing only light, authentic edge wear. The included original tan leather hard case is from the WWI era, structurally complete with significant surface crazing and an intact interior.
