The cartridges are designed with copper-washed cases and lead bullets featuring three distinct grease grooves, utilizing Lesmok high velocity powder for precision long-range shooting. Verbatim markings on the top label include 50 MARKSMAN CARTRIDGES, .22 CAL. LONG RIFLE, and LESMOK HIGH VELOCITY POWDER. The manufacturer is explicitly identified as WESTERN CARTRIDGE COMPANY, EAST ALTON, ILL., U. S. A.
