A US military M2 bipod, primarily designed for use with the 7.62mm M14 rifle. This single accessory is constructed from stamped steel with a dark protective finish. The unit features two folding legs with longitudinal strengthening ribs for structural integrity, terminating in flat, rectangular feet intended for stability. The top of the bipod is equipped with a spring-loaded, quick-detach clamping mechanism specifically designed to mount to the gas cylinder of an M14 rifle. One leg includes an integrated clip used to secure the other leg while in the folded transport configuration. No manufacturer marks, contract numbers, or ordnance stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces.
