Lot of 8, .50-70 Benet (Benet.50-70 Inside Primer) Cartridges. At first glance, the cartridge is a ring ignition. In fact, the cartridge was invented by Colonel Sylvester V. Benet consists of a primer located inside the sleeve, fixed by crimping the walls of the sleeve. This type of ammunition is called a cartridge with internal ignition. Sylvester Benet was head of the Equipment Research Department at Frankford Arsenal (FA), Philadelphia.
