A British military steel helmet of the Mk IV pattern, commonly referred to as the turtle helmet. The shell is constructed of steel with a dark, textured field-drab paint finish and features the characteristic lift-the-dot fastener stud at the crown, which allows for a removable liner. The interior contains a black synthetic oilcloth liner equipped with internal rubber buffers and a cross-shaped crown pad. A khaki canvas webbing chinstrap is attached to metal lugs on the interior sides of the shell. No manufacturer marks, dates, or size stamps are legible on the shell or liner components.
