Early American Civil War Cased Tin Daguerreotype Tinted Photo *Rare* Early War 1861-62 Elkens or Elkins Brothers sitting side by side. Dressed in their 4-Button sack coats and regulation Union Pants. Sure doesn’t take long by looking at these 2 to know they are Union Brothers. The 4 Button sack coats were a common general wear/fatigue coat at the time. In the collector’s world today, they are pretty non-existent and coveted by Advanced collectors a like! Photo shows little to no wear. Photo itself is clear and crisp, unreal condition for its age! Foiled frame shows little to no wear. The Daguerreotype case would grade 8.5 on a 10 scale. Normal-slight corner wear for its age.
