American Civil War Era Small Pistol Powder Flask Copper Shell pattern design 2.25” x 4.5” Late 18th-early 19th century Nice mechanical working order. This 4-inch brass pistol flask would have been used with a small caliber black powder pistol. Such as a Colt Model 1849 pocket or similar-sized percussion pistol. These flasks are sized to be portable and to hold enough powder for small fire arms. Purportedly Attributed to Corporal Norris M.
